Some New Juncture artists helped our good friend Nicholas O’Neal Blume in his art show and installation performance.
Breezy manned the mobile live video feed while KyleG and Josh Strickland played various roles in the performance piece. Fenton Thompson was the sound artist taking feedback from the collective audience’s actions which control the sound and progression of the piece.

Excerpts from the show information:
“I thought there was an Intricate Web Based Organization (I.W.B.O.) broadcasting my life 24/7 to a hidden website where they had an assassination gambling game based on what I can be manipulated into doing. My faith helped me conquer this mental blip. I do not believe in organized religion so I am going to perform a Self-Baptism.”
Self Baptism

“I now no longer believe that organization is after me but that experience inspired me to make my own I.W.B.O. to document the process of my art making and break down the fourth wall further.”

“To create this I.W.B.O. I set up three live video feeds with two of them 24/7 and mobile on my website. The physical embodiment of the I.W.B.O. at the show is a control room with two sound artists reading the collective audience’s actions which control the sound and progression of the piece.”

“I will be performing my Self-Baptism to symbolize my defeat of irrational thought and confirmation of faith. The self baptism involves me lighting my head on fire, then painting underwater in an 8ft tall water tank, then I’m going to have the tank smashed. ”

“The fire symbolizes being engulfed in irrationality, the underwater painting symbolizes the purification of the soul and exorcism of my demons and the smashing of the tank symbolizes the essentiality of forgiveness in our lives of sin.”
